In Character Basis of List: The Mysterium of Australia communicate through books that are enchanted so that any message written in one, appears in all others that have been enchanted in the same fashion. Distance is no object, and the tome is linked specifically to a person (usually the owner) present at enchanting - it does not work out of that individual’s possession. Only the owner of each book can actually read what is written within it's pages – so unless the Tome is fooled or the owner reads the pages aloud, to anyone other than the owner, the book appears to be the original text taken on their enchantment expedition. Supernal visions shows it to be Imbued – its Composition are the Fate, Matter, and Space Arcana – its Identification reads as it’s owner with a hint of something truly ancient. If the connection to the owner or the other books is broken (using prime counter magic) then the book becomes useless to both the one who broke the connection and the one who originally owned the book. In Character Restrictions: The Tomes are for any Mysterium Mage in Australia. Characters should probably be recognised members of the Order within Australia and must have Status in the Mysterium. A supplicant wishing to gain a Tome of his or her own must successfully complete an expedition for its enchantment, bearing any mundane book he/she chooses. The expedition details are passed from order member to order member, so most Australians new to the Mysterium are told as a matter of their induction, but overseas people moving to Australia must obtain details of the Tomes from another member of the Mysterium in Australia to engage on the journey. Characters must have a minimum of Status 1 in the Mysterium to join, and must have had their Storyteller run them through Seed # 1 of the Australian Mysterium Plot to obtain entry. International members transferring their characters to Australia must find out IC about the Tomes to engage on the expedition. List infiltration Policy: It is possible for infiltrators to gain access to the list or parts thereof. It is required that each such character fully detail how they have obtained the information they are using for their attempt and how they are going about this attempt. Players should explain such things as how their character came to find out about the list, what exactly they know about it and how, as well as how they intend to use this information to read all the books. All such explanations and applications should be subject to the appropriate approvals and the list moderator’s discretion. List Banning Policy: If the Tome is destroyed or damaged (including counter magic used on the book) they will be removed from the list as their Tome no longer functions. If the Character dies, the book no longer works, and they will be removed from the list. Any Character leaves the Mysterium, or divulges important Order information to someone outside the Order for personal gain will no longer be allowed a Tome – and if the Mysterium players remaining take action to retrieve the book, they will be removed from the list. Any Character who borrows material from a Mysterium source, and accrues “Library Fines” will be removed from the list by the higher ranking members present, until such time as they return the material and pay whatever due is deemed fair.
